During NZSIT’s recycling game at the University of Auckland, students were challenged to sort common waste items into the correct bins. The result was surprising: only 3% of participants correctly placed Tetra Pak cartons and disposable coffee cups.
The activity highlighted an important issue — many people want to recycle, but aren’t always sure how.
By turning recycling education into an interactive game, NZSIT hopes to raise awareness and help build better waste-sorting habits for a more sustainable campus and community.
