Our Initiatives

2026 NZSIT HIGHLIGHTS

Orientation O-Week

This initiative focuses on engaging students during Orientation Week through eco-themed booths at major Auckland universities. By offering free goodie bags and practical eco-gifts, we promote sustainability while raising awareness of our platform, building an initial student user base, and connecting with environmentally conscious communities on campus.

Campus Clothing Recycling Day

This campaign promotes sustainability through a Clothing Recycling Day held on campus. In partnership with charitable organisations, students are encouraged to donate unwanted clothes at collection points in exchange for rewards, helping reduce waste while giving clothes a second life and spreading kindness within the campus community.

Campus Second-hand Swap Fair

This event brings students together through a Second-hand Swap Fair on campus, encouraging them to exchange textbooks and everyday items after midterms. By swapping instead of buying new, students save money, reduce waste, and support a more sustainable and student-friendly campus lifestyle.

Youth Eco-Creativity Competition

This competition provides a creative platform for students to turn sustainability ideas into impactful outcomes. Through three core tracks—Visual Impact, Art & Design, and Concept & Solution—participants are encouraged to express environmental stories, reimagine waste through design, and propose practical solutions to real-world challenges. The competition celebrates creativity, innovation, and real-world impact, empowering students to shape a more sustainable future.

VOLUNTEERS OPPORTUNITIES

We are committed to building New Zealand’s most professional and trusted volunteer management platform. From opportunity listings to volunteer screening, every step is carefully reviewed to ensure quality and reliability. We connect suitable volunteers with the right organisations, while helping students find volunteer opportunities that truly match their interests, skills, and goals—creating meaningful experiences and long-term value for both organisations and volunteers.
