New Zealand Sustainable Initiative Trust is a NZ based nonprofit trust dedicated to empowering youths in New Zealand such as international students through sustainable development education and action-driven transformation. Our mission is to inspire awareness, cultivate leadership, and foster practical solutions that create lasting positive impact for communities and the environment.
NZSIT delivers action-driven sustainability education that goes beyond awareness and theory.
Through structured programmes, workshops, and hands-on initiatives, we equip young people with practical knowledge, real-world skills, and leadership capabilities to engage meaningfully in sustainability and community action. Our educational approach focuses on learning by doing, empowering participants to translate ideas into measurable outcomes.
NZSIT builds inclusive, youth-led communities that connect students, volunteers, local organisations, and wider society. By delivering campus- and community-based initiatives—such as recycling programmes, second-hand exchanges, and public engagement events—we foster social cohesion, cross-cultural integration, and collective action. Our community work turns sustainability into a shared, everyday practice.
NZSIT works closely with businesses, NGOs, educational institutions, and public-sector partners to co-create sustainability and volunteer programmes. Through these partnerships, we help organisations engage young talent, strengthen CSR/ESG outcomes, and deliver initiatives with real social and environmental impact. Ming is a communications and media professional with 20+ years of international experience across China, Hong Kong, and New Zealand. She has served at Parliamentary Services and founded her own media, marketing, and PR agency. Ming is committed to advancing community sustainability and long-term social impact in New Zealand.
Ken Liu is an educator and community advocate with 16+ years of experience in New Zealand’s tertiary education sector. He specialises in instructional design and blended learning, with experience at institutions including the University of Auckland. Ken has also worked with Parliamentary Services as a published translator and interpreter, and is actively involved in youth leadership and cross-cultural community initiatives.
Business executive with deep experience across environmental management, social health wellbeing, and business operation. Specialised in financial management, operation leadership, and strategic planning, with a strong track record of partnering with senior leadership to drive performance and sustainable growth.
Tyler is an accomplished international education professional and community advocate with over a decade of experience in the sector. Specializing in organizational leadership and student welfare, Tyler served as General Manager of a well-known conservation and environmental trust, where he excelled in driving community-led environmental and educational programs.
Colly is a postgraduate student at the University of Auckland and an environmental advocate with a strong focus on communication, community engagement, and behaviour change. She serves as President of the New Zealand Chinese Students Association and contributes to programme coordination and youth-led initiatives across campus and community settings. Colly is committed to advancing long-term, youth-driven sustainability initiatives in New Zealand.
